Where was that Chas? The entrance does look familiar but many buildings had similar designs then.

We used to frequent this venue in 71/72, it was Blackpool Mecca but upstairs was the Highland Room, we had a reunion in 1998 and myself, Phil Masters, Dave Scutt, Ian Ferguson-Smith and Tom Handley all attended and we are at the side of the stage in this video for a microsecond. The singer Cleveland Horn died shortly after he performed.

This clip is a mixture of 1) Studio time, 2) performance on the main stage downstairs and 3) Black and White Mayhem upstairs in the Highland room which is were we were !

We were stood right behind Ian levine (Fat Guy in White Shirt) RHS of stage. Seen on openning shot and subsequent ones !

The picture evoked some great memories of nights at the Mecca between 73 and 76. The free bus from Burscough to the mecca and then slip the driver of the wigan bus a couple of quid to take us on to the allnighter
