Problem Signing In

You may have difficulty signing in with the new URL which Beddo will be looking at soon. The old URL index.php?page=2 is working though so click on this link for the time being and you should not have any problems with the system remembering you.

Looks like the cookie system supports one domain or the other, so whilst the site can be viewed using both southportchat.com and lancashireforums.co.uk, only one can be used for logging in and posting.

It is now set to lancashireforums.co.uk

I think having both southportchat.com and lancashireforums.co.uk is confusing people so I have set up any links on southportchat.com to forward to the same page on lancashireforums.co.uk

So,if anyone is still trying to log on with southportchat.com they'll get to the right place!

It's really weird if you try to view the last post (on the lright hand side of the page - it makes you log in and then says

I've managed to get into those parts of the forum without any problems, let us know if it persists. Incidentally I'm not a tech person on this site , I just get rid of spam postings and that sort of thing, we'd have to ask Beddo to look at the serious stuff.

Do you mean that you are clicking on the name Maria 25 ? If so that won't take you to the last post in that thread. It links to the poster's profile. The site's software will only allow admin further than that so that's probably why you're getting the no permission message.

To look at the last post in a thread you need to click on the links on the left hand side and go to the last page in the thread. Does that make sense?

No I was definitely clicking on the 'last post' not the author.

There's something fishy going on here - I now click on the last post - conincidentally by ped - and it works.

Even if I click on the author - ped - it lets me view her profile anyway if I log in as a member. So f I had have clicked on 'maria25' by mistake it still would have let me view the profile. Does 'maria25' exist? Not sure I can find such a person who's posted.

I know I'm technologically incompetent but this is baffling.

Nothing fishy - just realised that thread has been moved to the removed threads forum which is only visible to admins. Maria wotsits post was spam so the content was deleted. Not sure how the whole thread got moved but I've now moved it back so it should work again.
